If everything is in just a few folders, then you can try:1) Copying all files folders into a single folder named MyBackup2) Right Click on the newly created MyBackup Folder and selecting Send To->Compressed (zipped) Folder3) Insert a CD/DVD4) Follow the prompts to copy the newly made ZIP file to the inserted CD/DVD

i agree and sometimes backing up the system with the ntbackup is crazy.sometimes it even backups up the backup file its creating and ends up crashing the disk.what you might want to keep in mind is that system restore backups system files.howevever, keep in ming that system restore will not backup personal files, like docs and pics.so my suggestion is to use system restore for backing up the system files and programs.then make a straight copy of your personal files onto cd or dvd.also, you can copy personal files by uploading to microsoft's free website called skydrive.lasly, if you are set on backing up the disk then you might want to consider using a methodology commonly known as disk imaging.and one final note.if you have a large disk drive you might want to consider making a second partition on it to store your disk images and your personal files.that way if the main partition crashes and you need to reinstall the operating system, then you won't have any personal files on it that will be destroyed.db`...> DatabaseBen, Retired Professional - Systems Analyst - Database Developer - Accountancy - Veteran of the Armed Forces - @Hotmail.com "share the nirvana mann" - dbZen ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > >
